Sensemillia Osdorp Coffeeshop is located in the western suburbs of Amsterdam, one of the most beautiful and lush areas of the city. It actually has the distinction of being the westernmost shop that is still within city limits. It is also found on one of the most stunning properties, resting on the very edge of Sloterpark. This is a large and beautiful park with many walking trails, and one of the biggest lakes in the city, Sloterplas.
Sensemillia Osdorp is found on the upstairs of a modern standalone building right on the lakefront, above an upscale restaurant called the Grand Café . There is also a Cantonese restaurant in the same building. The surrounding town is a bit more spread out than you would expect of Amsterdam, and nothing short of charming.
The shop itself is fairly standard for a Dutch coffeeshop, minus one very unique feature. Once you pass the counter and head to the back of Sinsemilla Osdorp Coffeeshop, you will find an outdoor terrace. This is the smoking area. There is a stunning view of Sloterplas on one side of the terrace. Unfortunately, the terrace just has the feeling of unrealized potential with just a few chairs and an ashtray. Furthermore, there is a thick sheet of acrylic over the opening where you view the beautiful lake. We are unsure of the reason for it but it would undoubtedly be a much nicer view without it.
The interior of the shop is a bit more inviting, with hardwood floors, high ceilings, and ample natural lighting. No smoking is allowed in here, however.
Sensemillia Osdorp has an extensive cannabis menu. They are mainly focused on their weed selections, with just a few types of hashish to round it out. The shop carries a mix of old Amsterdam favorites (such as Amnesia and White Widow), and more contemporary trending strains. Pricing seems to be fairly reasonable, certainly more so than you generally find in the city center. Beyond the cannabis offerings at Sensemillia Oosdorp, there is a limited selection of hot and cold drinks. They do not serve food. Then again, sitting above two restaurants provides ample opportunity for customers to have a delicious meal during their visit.
This shop is featured in our 368 page Hardcover book CONNOISSEUR GUIDE: AMSTERDAM COFFEESHOPS. A MUST-HAVE for any serious visitor to the Amsterdam scene, it is the first book ever to profile all 168 coffeeshops in the city, with vivid full-color pictures, detailed descriptions, amenities, and locals/regulars recommendations for the "best of" shops in a variety of categories.
