Siberie

About

Siberie Coffeeshop sits canal side on Brouwersgracht, just to the southwest of Centraal Station. It is also very close to the bustling avenue of Haarlemmerstraat, where you will find many boutiques and restaurants, and a few of the city’s higher-end coffeeshops. Though Siberie sits in close proximity to these busy areas of the city, it is actually on a fairly quiet side street, at least comparatively speaking. That isn’t to say this shop itself is quiet. To the contrary, it is popular with both locals and tourists, and consequently can fill up at peak times. The shop interior is best described as modern in appearance. You might expect to see something very similar at an actual coffee shop in a trendy area of London or New York.

While Siberie may have quite traditional wooden floors, tables, and chairs, these are complimented by some funky lighting fixtures, a large modern curved counter, local artwork, and just a touch of neon. It all ties together for a highly contemporary feel. As you walk in, you will also notice that Siberie is divided into two parts. In the front is a seating area and smoking room, which has a few large tables on the right side, opposite a small table for two. A glass door partitions this area off from the main room, where you’ll find the counter and additional table and bench seating.

Siberie has several features that make it stand out from others in the area. One is the large set of double doors out front. These are opened up when the weather is warm, providing a very open and airy feeling to the shop, particularly the front seating room. At times, they also provide additional tables and chairs outside. On a sunny afternoon, Siberie Coffeeshop can be one of the nicest places to sit back, unwind, and watch the boats go by. It is also one of the more serious “coffee” coffeeshops. By that, we mean they actually serve gourmet coffees and teas. It might surprise you, but we’ve found that Dutch coffeeshops aren’t always the best places to find delicious coffee. Siberie is definitely an exception.

Siberie coffeeshop also has an excellent cannabis menu, which brings us to another notable feature of this shop. It is one of only a few in the city providing lab test reports. Many claim THC percentages, but have no actual documents available to back them up. At this shop, you will find a set of laminated reports near the register. They show not only the THC percentage of the given weed or hashish item, but a full cannabinoid profile. The few exceptions tend to be special menu items, which change with great regularity.

The menu itself is also quite large, with approximately two-dozen selections. The weed strains are generally modern and trendy, while the hashish traditional pressed imports from places like Morocco, India, Nepal, and Tibet. Pricing is quite reasonable here too, especially compared to other connoisseur shops.

Siberie

What a place. Probably the friendliest place in Amsterdam (next to Camping Vliegenbos). The budtenders are super helpful and nice and the atmosphere of the place is A+.

Siberie Coffeeshop has a contemporary décor and open welcoming atmosphere. They offer a connoisseur-grade cannabis menu, and serve gourmet coffees and teas. Pricing also tends to be quite reasonable in light of the quality of their selection. This is an exceptional establishment, worthy of a special trip.
