'T Keteltje coffeeshop is located toward the north end of Marnixstraat, at the western edge of Amsterdam Centrum. It is also at the edge of De Jordaan, a quieter residential neighborhood known for its beautiful old Dutch buildings, upscale modern boutiques, and high real estate prices. Located only a minute’s walk west to the Singelgracht canal, there is no shortage of scenery to enjoy while walking around this district with a joint.
‘T Keteltje fits well into the Jordaan neighborhood. On the one hand, it feels more traditional than many of the shops in the city center. At the same time, however, it has a decidedly upscale feel to it. A great deal of wood is incorporated into the décor of this shop. As you walk in, you immediately notice a tall, large front counter. It is hand made of thick and beautifully polished interconnected planks. The front room is also adorned with several wood sculptures, and a great deal of additional wood trim. Look down. The flooring is also made of large planks of polished hardwood. Additional fixtures like digital menus, a commercial cappuccino machine, and stone tiling only add to the upscale feel.
The back of ‘T Keteltje has an enclosed smoking lounge. As with the front of the shop, the feeling here is polished and upscale. There are wooden tables, and comfortable bench and stool seating. In the center of the smoking lounge is a billiards table, along with a large TV hung on the back wall. Artwork, track lighting, loft-style air-conditioning vents, and contemporary colors all make this room inviting and comfortable.
This shop generally has a large cannabis menu, with ample varieties of both weed (flower) and hashish. The weed is largely old-school. The hashish, traditional pressed imports. They also have a nice selection of gourmet coffees and teas, as well as other drinks and snacks to keep you comfortable during your visit.
