New Times would be best described as a modern coffeeshop. The interior is highly polished. Clean hardwood floors frame the room, and the shop is accented with purple lighting and trim. They have recessed lighting, and other contemporary fixtures.
The Sprit is an establishment that would be best described as a cross between a traditional dutch coffeeshop, and a retro amusement center. It has a full wall of pinball machines... arcade games... There is no other place like it in Amsterdam!
Coffeeshop Amsterdam is aesthetically impressive, with a combination of exposed brick, modern furnishings, and cool lighting that makes this shop contemporary and inviting. Sister shop to Tweede Kamer, and a connoisseur establishment.
This shop might just be “the” place for the visiting celebrity stoner. The atmosphere is upscale. The menu is excellent, and boasts many internationally famous strains. Perhaps most importantly though, it is far enough from the center to be quiet.
For a long time this establishment was known as Utopia, but changed hands in early 2018 to become The Plug. Interestingly, the new owner also runs The Plug cannabis club in Barcelona, which is quite well known for its connoisseur products.

The Store Coffeeshop is a small shop on the north end of the Singel canal. This is a rock ‘n’ roll themed shop. As expected, they play a lot of 60’s and 70’s classic rock and roll. The main focus of the décor is also this era of music.
Speakeasy coffeeshop was originally founded in 1982, but this is a new recently renovated location. The interior of this place is a well designed mix of contemporary and classic. The shop is interesting, as much as comfortable and accommodating.
Eerste Oosterparkstraat 47
The Wauw Shop is found in the Houthavens neighborhood. It is largely a place frequented by locals, though does get a tourist visitor or two as well, being somewhat near the city center. This is not a "hangout" coffeeshop. It is strictly take and go.
