This coffeeshop is owned by the proprietors of Siberië, The Loft, and De Supermarkt. The management has been quite serious about weed, often focusing on the more contemporary high-potency strains. All four are regarded as connoisseur coffeeshops.
Tweede Nassaustraat 1B
On nice days the management will usually open up one of the wide front windows. Sit next to it. You'll be indoors, but immersed in the beautiful outside air and sunshine. This feature probably places Solo on the "coolest coffeeshop seating" list.
Korte Koningsstraat 2
This shop might just be “the” place for the visiting celebrity stoner. The atmosphere is upscale. The menu is excellent, and boasts many internationally famous strains. Perhaps most importantly though, it is far enough from the center to be quiet.
New Times would be best described as a modern coffeeshop. The interior is highly polished. Clean hardwood floors frame the room, and the shop is accented with purple lighting and trim. They have recessed lighting, and other contemporary fixtures.
The Sprit is an establishment that would be best described as a cross between a traditional dutch coffeeshop, and a retro amusement center. It has a full wall of pinball machines... arcade games... There is no other place like it in Amsterdam!
For a long time this establishment was known as Utopia, but changed hands in early 2018 to become The Plug. Interestingly, the new owner also runs The Plug cannabis club in Barcelona, which is quite well known for its connoisseur products.
Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 132
Reefer is hard to miss if you are looking for it. Two large red neon signs serve as beacons for finding the place. The decor of Reefer is quite traditional for a Dutch coffeeshop. Polished wood dominates the interior.
Sint Antoniesbreestraat 77
Kadinsky Coffeeshop on Rosmarijnsteeg is one of three Kadinsky locations in Amsterdam. If you are familiar with the Kadinsky coffeeshops, you know they boast a sizable cannabis menu. There are typically over a dozen types of flower (weed) here.
This shop is best described as a low-key take-away establishment. They have a menu stocked with long running popular strains, which you’ll find displayed on-screen. 156 seems to value simplicity. They focus on cannabis, and ignore the flashy extras.
